Every woman carries stories about who she is, what she owes to others, what is possible, and what she deserves. Some stories help us become. Some stories keep us small. Many of these stories are invisible and, thus, unexamined.

Many women arrive at a threshold—often at a time of rupture or transition—feeling disconnected from themselves, others, or the natural world. We have spent years caring for others, meeting expectations, fulfilling responsibilities, and carrying emotional weight. We know something needs to change, but we aren’t sure what comes next.

Storywork Alchemy is the practice of reclaiming authorship of your life.

Your story is your medicine.

The Sovereign Self

The Sovereign Self is the deepest, most authentic part of who you are—the part that exists beneath cultural expectations, inherited stories, and roles that no longer fit.

 You were born whole.

Over time, family systems, cultural messages, and life experiences shaped your identity—sometimes in ways that moved you away from your deepest truth and a lived sense of wholeness. Reclamation is not about becoming someone new. It is about remembering who you have always been.

The Glass Cradle™ framework helps us understand how our identity was shaped. It answers the questions:

·       How did I become who I am?

·       Why do I keep doing this?

·       When did I lose myself?

Kinshipremembering our belonging to ourselves, one another, and the living world—is the deeper outcome.

Storywork Alchemy is the process of cultivating kinship by reclaiming authorship of our story, free from the constraints of the Glass Cradle, or any other limiting framework. Storywork Alchemy answers the questions:

·       Who am I, and what story am I living into?

·       How did I get here, influenced by the stories I inherited?

·       Who do I want to become, and how do I get there?

Storywork Alchemy is a two-part process with four stages:

·       Reclamation—remembering our forgotten Selves and reclaiming authorship of our lives

·       Wild Becoming—owning the identity we are living into and aligning our choices that shape the journey

Storywork Alchemy is supported by Threshold Journeys™.

Threshold Journeys™ are ways of listening, learning, healing, and reconnecting through experiential and contemplative practices that support becoming. Threshold Journeys address the key questions:

·       How do I walk this path in a way that supports my becoming?

·       How do I stay rooted in my own inner knowing?

·       How do I become in relationship with the land?

  • Meditation and mindfulness help us focus our attention, reducing stress and improving emotional regulation. Meditations allow us to step back and reframe our mindsets. Mindfulness is a quality of lived awareness that encourages us to be fully present to life without judgment.

  • Writing is a powerful tool for processing difficult emotions, life transitions, and traumatic experiences. It engages the brain in ways that support emotional regulation, create emotional distance, and allow for clarity—making our pain more manageable and lowering stress. In creating cohesive stories, we build bridges that link our lived experiences and our emotions—often helping us to find meaning from life’s most difficult circumstances.

  • Like writing, artistic expression helps us safely process difficult emotions, life transitions, and traumatic experiences by engaging our creative, nonverbal brains—reducing stress and serving as a catalyst for talking about deep-seated pain. It is a way of taking what is bottled up inside and creating a release valve. This isn’t about artistic talent but exploring the Self—releasing emotions, processing trauma, finding clarity, and reclaiming self-sovereignty.

  • The natural world can be a faithful companion in healing, renewal, and becoming. Nature is a wise teacher, if we learn how to listen. Time spent in nature—or down the block or in our backyards—gives our brains a rest from thinking and attention fatigue. In the natural world, our attention can soften as we are invited to slow down, absorb the welcome of the natural world, and notice the wonder that surrounds us, even in the shadow times. Moments of wonder and awe help us to regain balance and personal peace.

  • You have been awesome. From my personal life to work, I appreciate you being there. Opening up about my personal life is not something that I do. You made me feel comfortable enough to do so. You never complained, just listened.

  • I wanted to thank you for making my transition so seamless and easy. You have been such a huge part of my success. Just knowing you were there for me if I needed you was the comfort I needed to get moving with my degree and work.
